Jams, hackathons, and innovation challenges have grown into a cornerstone of the contemporary innovation ecosystem, yet their collaborative potential is consistently undermined by a fragile social architecture. Organizers have reached maturity in logistical execution, but the conditions under which strangers become collaborators remain undesigned. This thesis names this gap the Synergy Gap and develops the Multiplayer Innovation Framework in response: a lifecycle framework integrating service design with game design principles across the full participant journey. Prototyped at the Kuldiga Service Jam and evaluated against a control site in Lima, the framework demonstrates meaningfully better collaborative conditions than the unstructured baseline, offering event organizers a transferable methodology to close the gap between logistical maturity and social architecture.
