Marlon Julian Nombrado is a critical media literacy educator for ten years in both formal and informal settings. He is one of the co-founders of Out of The Box, an award-winning educational nonprofit for media literacy in the Philippines. Along with his organization, he was awarded First Prize in the 2021 UNESCO Global Media & Information Literacy Awards. He has published reference materials, spoken in over 150 workshops and fora, and designed high impact media campaigns on digital rights, counter-disinformation, and media literacy. Marlon finished his BA Journalism degree from the University of the Philippines in 2014. He has participated in several leadership programs abroad including the International Visitor Leadership Program, World Expression Forum, and Salzburg Global Seminar.
