Rachel has a social work background and worked in one of the largest-NGOs in Hong Kong, she specialises in urban community development and focuses on improving tenants’ living conditions in inadequate housing. She is passionate about co-designing asset-based interventions with the service users and building community-driven resilience networks.

Outside her job as a social worker, Rachel is also involved in several community art and local placemaking initiatives, honing her skills in designing person-centred interventions that could bring positive changes to the community. At SDSI, she is eager to explore more about participatory design methodologies, echoing her humanistic belief that “one is the expert of their life”.

In her free time, she enjoys crocheting and gaming. She is most certainly planning to bring her Switch to Latvia ;)
