Devanshi 'Dev' Chauhan

Dev is a maker who thinks with her hands as much as her head. She likes to learn the rules of a craft, then break a few on purpose to create new things. Lately that's through clay and Arduino.

She trained as an engineer and has spent the last six years as a design researcher at Brooks. What she loves most is facilitation, bringing the right decision-makers to the table to turn insights into impact. When she noticed people buying running shoes they never ran in, she dug into why. It turned out they wanted that comfort for everyday life, and that grew into a whole new team for non-runners.

She's drawn to speculative design, imagining better futures and working backwards to build them. At SDSI she hopes to co-create with underrepresented communities, and with nature as an equal stakeholder, while still meeting real business goals. A road trip last year from Riga through the Curonian Spit to Vilnius left her in love with the region's oneness with nature and its people.

Beneath it all is community: Dev wants people to feel included and loved, and dreams of growing old in a co-living home where friends make art and grow their own food.
